This year (2017) we trialled our new coaching service for individuals or small groups of students aimed at fully preparing them before they start their dissertations. Feedback from the students who took part suggest that the service provided a clearer understanding of what is expected of them relating to several key aspects of a dissertation, and was crucial in their subsequent success. These aspects relevant to you are:

• Deciding on a clear dissertation title including the research questions
• Understanding of the methodology underpinning the approach to the collection of data or source materials and their analysis
• How to go about researching and writing the Literature Review
• How to structure and present your results
• How to write the Discussion so as to tie together the research questions, your datacollected, previous research whilst developing your arguments or points of view
• How to Conclude the dissertation by revisiting the key research questions and what your work has contributed to answering these linking your results to the aims and objectives of the wider academic discipline
• How to set out future directions suggested by your work. What questions are posed which are worthy of further study?
